LRT Ride - Let's Scrap Sketches April 15th DT reveal

good morning everyone!!! can you believe it is already the middle of the month!!! this month has just flown by!!!! It is the 15th and you know what that means . . .Let's Scrap Sketches mid month reveal, this sketch is super fun and versatile and hope you think so too:

Here is my take:

I changed up the sketch a bit by adding a long quote rather than an title, and I used train tracks and cogs as my centre focal point. The tabs on the right hand side do open up to reveal more photos and journalling:

A couple of close-ups. I cut the title with my silhouette and used the negative space created by the letters as my quote. I then added a background paper behind my cut file and then added stickles to give the letters some dimension:

I also wanted to add some fun to the layout because it was such a wonderful afternoon riding on the train, so I added a couple of flourishes (prima), chipboard cogs (dusty attic) that I stained with distress stain, and added some flair:

The black strips are washi tape (i love how they have hexagons all over them). The papers are mostly pebbles and the travel journal spots are from bo bunny.

Thank you for stopping by and I really hope you can find some time to play along, you have until the end of the month to link up your project for a chance to win a fabulous prize:

Dinosaur Baby Album

Life has been so crazy busy the last couple of months that I have just not been able to make this baby album. My cousin had her baby boy back in early January and I am just getting the gift done now, I'm still two albums behind but one day at a time I will get them done. I went with greens and a dinosaur theme and am putting it in the mail for her this week:

Maxwell: I was inspired by Stuck?! Sketches April 1:

I was also inspired by PaperCrafters Corner Magazine Monday week 140 with bold title, plaid (letters), the pop of green, buttons, and date (in the journalling):

birthday cards

Hello everyone, I'm taking a little break from personal scrapbooking and working on baby gifts (as I'm now three babies behind) but since it is both my dad's and grandpa's birthday today I have a couple of cards to share that I made them today (and yes i have to put them in the mail but oops better late than never).

First two are for a coworker (his 50th) and one for my grandpa (the one with the tie):

Then for my dad:

I loved the design of this card with all the angles and tools. I am submitting this card for PaperCrafter's Corner Magazine Monday because of the masculinity and different angles:

Life is Better Around the Campfire - Let's Scrap April 1st Design Team Reveal

Snow is melting, I am starting to see the gravel in the driveway and there were a couple of days this week I didn't need to wear a coat in the afternoon because it was so nice and warm!!!

It is April 1st and that means sketch reveal day at Let's Scrap Sketches!!! This one is super fun with lots of room for journalling and large embellies:

Here is my take, I stayed fairly close to the sketch by using a large embellie (fire cut with my silhouette) and large quote (also cut with my silhouette):

And a couple of close ups: the fire i cut with my silhouette and then added some stickles and gesso paint to accent the flames

i added sequins around the page to emmulate sparks from the fire:

I absolutely love this little s'mores embellie!!!

Thank you for stopping by and for your wonderful comments, hope you can play along this month at Let's Scrap Sketches:
